i hope you are sweet like the love we shared
i hope you are strong like the way we cared
i hope you love as much as was in our stares
i hope you find life to be much more fair

i hope you have your daddy's smile
take our brains but not our guile
know that we loved you all the while
and for you we'd walk a million miles

i hope you know your mama tried
to love you the most and be by your side
for you i laugh and for you i cry
i know one day you will touch the sky

my sweet baby girl, i will do my best
to give you my life, forsaking all the rest
i'll do everything i can to make your pain less
i hope at the end i pass the final test.

as you grow sweetly in the dark
innocently awakening, senses form
you've taken me over and captured my heart

ive never known a love like this
all encompassing my every move
my baby girl, nothing compares
to the wonder ive found in you

youre on my mind all the time
with worry, care, and awe
im so excited to meet you my love
the little one given to me by God

to your growth and ultimate good
